Month 15 With Your Baby!

Your baby may no longer be the little bundle of joy that fit so neatly into your arms. In fact, he may not even want to cuddle quite as much as he used to. That isn’t a reflection on your parenting skills but on his naturally curious nature and the fact that he is learning new things while he is exploring things around him.

Month 15 Of What To Expect From Your Baby

Baby’s eating patterns are changing now and he may not be willing to eat at some times while he seems to want everything on the table at others. His preference for some flavors and dislike for others is also clearer by this time. Introduce him to new flavors so that he can expand his taste palette.

If baby seems to losing some weight and he is no longer the plump, round cheeked little fellow he used to be, there is not much to worry about. His activity levels are far higher now and this is making him shed some fat. As long as he has his appetite and he is active, there is nothing to worry about.

This is also the stage when babies tend to start trying speaking more and more, if they have already mastered walking. The first words may be toys that they are particularly fond of because it helps them communicate that they want it quickly and easily. Reading stories to them and pointing out things while you carefully enunciate the names is a great way to help your toddler associate those things with words.

Month 15 Of Helpful Hints For Mommy

Welcome To Month Fifteen With Your Baby!

  • If baby is not trying to walk on his own by now, you might want to mention it to the pediatrician although it is not really something that marks a milestone failure. You may learn what you can do to encourage him to try some more.

  • Baby has probably discovered the art of flinging things away and if so, you can expect him to do it with everything he lays his hands on, including a spoon-full of food. Remember that losing your temper is not going to help here because he really doesn’t know that what he is doing is inappropriate diner etiquette. At the same time, it is important to show him that you do not find it funny at all.  He might still end up eating with his finger and not the spoon and that is fine as long as he gives the spoon a shot at first.

Try this: get your toddler to help sprinkle cheese and veggies on a homemade pizza or have a go at grating that carrot for your salad. Maybe they’d like to help mixing that muffin batter with a wooden spoon – or their hands 🙂
